Advice, information and support for parent carers
The Children's Services project provides advice, information and support for parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with a learning disability and/or autism or ADHD
Advice, information and guidance for parent carers of children and young people aged 0-25 with a learning disability, ADHD, or who are autistic. As well as workshops on topics of interest and parenting courses.
We offer:
- Help to access disability benefits such as Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
- Support applying for Short Breaks, Bleu Badges, and Freedom Passes
- Making charity applications if appropriate
- Signposting, advice, and information
- Discussions with parents regarding the needs of their child or young person
- Help to access services
- Regular parenting workshops on topics such as DLA, PIP, Blue Badges, and accessing local services

To make a referral to the Children's Services team - either for yourself or somebody you work with if you are a professional please fill in for children, and send to projectsupport@barnetmencap.org.uk or post it to Barnet Mencap, 35 Hendon Lane, Finchley N3 1RT.

Barnet Local Offer - Barnet Local Offer helps children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities and their families find information and support available across Barnet.
Barnet Carers Centre - Barnet Carers Centre was established in February 1996 as part of the network of The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. The Centre offers advice, information, emotional and practical support for all informal carers who live or work in the London Borough of Barnet.
Barnet Young Carers - Supports carers between the ages of 5-17 across Barnet.
Barnet Parent Carer Forum - A voluntary group of enthusiastic, committed parents and family carers in the London Borough of Barnet working with the local authority to ensure that the voices of our children young people and their families are heard.
Barnet SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS) - They offer free, confidential, impartial information, guidance, advice and support for parents/carers of children regarding a child's special and additional educational needs.
ADDISS - A charity providing people-friendly information and resources about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to anyone who needs assistance.
Contact - Provide advice, information and support to the parents of all disabled children, no matter their disability.
Home-Start Barnet - A charity offering emotional and practical support to families in Barnet.
Inclusive Play Opportunities Project (IPOP) - They provide support for children and young people with learning disabilities, and their parents and carers, to enable them to get involved in inclusive play and leisure activities along with their friends and neighbours.
