Trustee Recruitment
We are looking for people who want to help their local community. Do you have skills that could make an impact and improve and change people’s lives?
Our Board Team is made up of Voluntary Trustees. Our aim is to make Barnet Mencap the best organisation it can possibly be. Together we provide strategic leadership, act as ambassadors for our organisation and make sure Barnet Mencap complies with its legal obligations.
We want to strengthen our Board Team by recruiting more Trustees. The most important thing you can bring is a willingness to give up your time and a commitment to improving the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism.
A general understanding of how small local charities work, would be an advantage but, if you are successful, our induction programme will give you all the information you need. If you have skills in any of the following areas you would be particularly welcome
- Legal
- Finance and fundraising
- Marketing
We want our Board to reflect the community we work with, so applications are particularly welcome from younger people and people from an ethnic minority
Please take a look at the Board Duties and Responsibilities and our Organisation Chart and Explanation.
If you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Ray Booth, Chief Executive, on 020 8349 3842 or email projectsupport@barnetmencap.org.uk to be sent an application form.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for successful applicants.
