Barnet Mencap are taking part in the Big Give challenge this December. This is a match funding campaign which means that if we hit our target of raising £2,000 in December, this then gets doubled to £4,000!
How Can You Get Involved?
Service users and supporters will be taking part in the London to Lapland challenge over the week from 1st-8th December. Between us, we’re hoping we can walk/run/cycle or travel in your wheelchair the distance between London and Lapland – 1,844 miles. You can go any distance you desire – it all adds up in helping us get to Lapland. Keep your eyes on our Social Media channels across the week, where we will hopefully be sharing lots of photos of our supporters playing their part, and our running total of distance travelled!
Alternatively, you can organise your open challenge – we would love to hear your ideas!
Staff will be organising a Funky Hair and Hat Day on 2nd December. Keep a look out for photos and please do support us with a donation. Perhaps you might like to organise your own funky hat and hair day in order to raise money!
If you do not wish to take part in any activities, we still warmly welcome donations from you and thank you in advance for your support!
Donations are open from 1st – 8th December and must be made via the Big Give website only in order to count and be match funded. Please share this donations link with friends and family.
Money raised during this campaign will be split between our Community Opportunities Project, who offer social, learning and sports sessions; our Short Breaks service who provide day-time, overnight and holiday breaks for adults with learning disabilities; and our Children’s Service, offering play sessions, and support for parents of children with additional needs. You can see a more detailed breakdown of where the money would go by clicking here.
