We’re very excited to announce we’ve been given funding by the National Lottery Community Fund!
As everybody is well aware, things have been very tough this year, and that’s been no different for the adults and children with learning disabilities that we support. We’ve all had to adjust to new ways of seeing our clients, and new ways of working. None of this would be possible without technology helping us. From our staff working from home, to Zoom meetings and online sessions for our clients, technology has been vital at keeping us all in touch, and providing people with the help they need.
With this in mind, the National Lottery has granted us money towards our Communications. We are very grateful for this money, which we will spend to make sure we can help our clients more effectively, and help clients who have been digitally excluded in the past keep in touch.
Specifically, we will be able to afford laptops to enable staff members to work from home far more effectively and efficiently, and tablet devices for our clients. We will be able to purchase these and have them in place over the next few months, but they will have a life cycle of a few years, so will shape our future projects. Laptops will go to some of our frontline staff who speak to clients and carers on the phone and by email every day.
We have not received funding for IT for many years, so we would like to, once again, thank the National Lottery Community Fund for their support.
