Carers Week is taking place between 7th-13th June 2021.
Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognize the huge contribution they make to families across the UK.
The theme this year is ‘Making Caring Visible and Valued’
We know how much of a difference carers make to the lives of the people with learning disabilities and/or autism that we support. We know it has been a tougher year than most as we’ve been going through the pandemic, but you’re not alone.
We would like to thank all of the carers we work with, and those who support the people that use our services.
If you need any support you can always turn to Barnet Mencap to help. Through our completely free Working for You project, whether you need help to register as a carer, support to fill in a Carer’s Assessment or to apply for a carer’s card, we’re here to help.
We work closely with Barnet Carer’s Centre, who provide a wealth of support to carers within the borough of Barnet. For more information on Barnet Carer’s Centre, head to www.barnetcarers.org. They have a series of events and sessions across the week, including yoga sessions, podcasts, and events connect carers with local organisations. The full calendar of their events can be found at www.eventbrite.co.uk/organizations/events/calendar or by calling 020 3995 1909.
