  • Keeping Our Community Safe.

Chris once believed he’d found love.

But behind the words of affection was a cruel scam — one that stole his money, trust, and peace. £8,500 lost, 17 months of deception, and a heart left broken.

When Chris came to Barnet Mencap, everything began to change. With gentle questions, patient support, and safeguarding, the truth was uncovered. The fraud ended. The fear lifted.

Today, Chris stands proud —recovering emotionally, learning to guard against scams, performing at concerts, reconnecting with friends, and reclaiming his independence.

Neighbourhood Partnership project – Hope Corner

The PCN3 neighbourhood one stop clinic is a new initiative, where our patients with Learning Disabilities are invited for their annual health check at Hope Corner, which is a local community center. Attendees have the opportunity to interact with professionals such as Nursing Associates, representatives from Barnet Mencap and Barnet Carers, as well as a CLCH dietitian.
