Barnet Mencap has been operating the Bright Futures Project since 2015. funded by Barnet Councils ‘Provision of early intervention and prevention support for people with learning disabilities and autistic adults’ contract.
Barnet Mencap is delighted that it will again be providing the early intervention and prevention support for people with learning disabilities and autistic adults. The council recently carried out a tender and Barnet Mencap’s bid was successful. This means that we will continue to provide the Bright Futures service. Much of this will continue as before. The service is for any adult who is autistic or has a learning disability in Barnet.
Working for You will Offer advice and information.
The Community Opportunities Project (COPS) will provide leisure and learning activities.
Barnet Mencap will continue to raise awareness of learning disability and autism through training and workshops and help people with their reviews.
We will also continue to provide support for people to get jobs or on to training. But this Employment service will now be provided directly by Barnet Mencap not Royal Mencap.
Partnership working is very important to us. We want to maintain our current strong relationships but also develop new partnerships to help improve the lives of people with a learning disability and autistic adults in Barnet.
