Parenting Programme and Workshops

Stepping Stones Triple P Parenting Programme

Supermarket meltdowns? Mealtime tantrums? Bedtime battles? When you’re the parent or carer of a child with a disability, sometimes life can be extra challenging.

That’s why Barnet Mencap is offering parents in Barnet free parenting support through the Stepping Stones Triple P Parenting Programme. Triple P courses cover different age ranges, different conditions and are held in different parts of the borough run for five weeks followed by telephone support and a final group session.

  • Stepping Stones Trip
  • Tips and Strategies
  • Encourage behaviour you like
  • Teach your child new skills
  • Cope with stress

In January, we are running two courses, for parents of children in different age groups.

On Tuesday 8th January 2019 we have a course starting for parents of children aged 9 and under. On Friday 11th January 2019 we have a course starting for parents of children aged 10 and over.  To view the flyer for our January courses, please click here.

Our next workshop is Tips for Managing Celebrations and will take place on Tuesday 11th December 2018 at the Barnet Mencap office, 10am-12noon. The workshop leaders will be Sam Bishop, our Community Services (Adults & Children) Manager, and Valerie Lam, our Family Support Worker.
