Into the Future Short Term Breaks at Sherrick House

Sherrick House: 30 Church End, Hendon, NW4 4JX

What is a Short Term break?

This is where people with learning and/or physical disabilities have the opportunity to take a break from their carers, or everyday living situation. It also gives carers some time for themselves.

Who can use this service?

We believe that anyone can try a Short Term break. At present we support people in the London Boroughs of Barnet, Harrow and Brent. This is a service for people over 18 years old.

What support do people get?

Support is offered to each person individually.

Each person has the support that they need which can vary widely.

The Care Plan which will meet their needs is drawn up together with Service Users, Parents and Carers. Some service users need substantial support, and staff with them all the time. Others need less support and receive help with day-to-day tasks like washing, cooking, staying safe and outings in the community. Support is provided over 24 hours by the Staff Team

How do I pay for this Service?

The Local Authority produces an information leaflet about charges. Your Social Worker can show you this.
