Ray has been the Chief Executive of Barnet Mencap since 2002. He works with the project managers to make sure we are providing good support and services. He also works with the Directors of Barnet Mencap to make sure the organisation is going in the right direction.

He is the Transition Champion on the Learning Disability Partnership Board.


AdeAde Adedoyin

Ade joined Sherrick House Respite Service in April 2000 as a support worker and rose to the post of Deputy Manager in 2004. He has brought in many changes to how we deliver respite to people who use the service, since becoming the manager in 2006 after achieving his RMA. Such innovations include respite holidays and short breaks in the community.



Shelley GibbonsShelley Gibbons

Shelley is the Community Projects Manager. She has worked for Barnet Mencap since 1995 and built up the highly successful Community Opportunities Project. She has also worked closely with Barnet People's Choice and developed the Active London Project (now Fit2gether). She also goes to the Day Opportunities and Employment Group and is the Day Opportunities Champion. Shelley is also responsible for training staff around Adult Protection and other topics.

Lucy has been working for the Equality Housing team at Barnet Mencap for 11 years, starting out as a Community Link Worker. She is now the full-time manager of the project, supporting people with learning disabilities to live full and independent lives, either in a shared house or a home of their own.

Jackie Silverman started at Barnet Mencap a long time ago as the first project worker, working only 8 hours a week! Now she manages the Family Support service, advises parents and represents the organisation at multi-agency meetings around Barnet, making sure families have their opinion heard. She now works 27 hours a week!
