Springboard Programme
This is a monthly programme of community-based events for people aged 16 years and older and is part of Barnet Mencap's Community Opportunities Project, known as COPS for short. Most of the places we go to are accessible to wheelchair users.
We regularly run the following activities, plus many more over the year.
Ten Pin Bowling

Pub Nights

Restaurant Nights
The Drop In
This is where the suggestions for things to do are shared and planned. Anyone who is a member is welcome to attend and put forward their ideas.
Drink it! Juice Bar
Held every Saturday at Finchley Youth Theatre, the new Juice Bar is the best place to go for a healthy drink! Run by three people with learning disabilities per shift, the Juice Bar offers a range of juices and snacks. Want the Juice Bar at an event? You can book to have a mobile Juice Bar at your local event or conference. For more information, contact Laura Davitt at 020 8349 3842.
Please note, the Juice Bar has had a break over the festive period, and will return on 25th February 2012.
Over 50's Art Group
This group is for people aged 50 plus. We run a regular Art Group, for which you don't need to be a COPs member. The art has been displayed at exhibitions and made into greetings cards.
Asperger's Social Group
This group is for adults with Asperger's Syndrome. The group meets regularly for a variety of community-based social events.
Pub visits - we visit pubs in Finchley, Barnet and Edgware.
Restaurant visits - We have been to a range of different restaurants.
Drop in - We have a monthly drop-in for members to meet up and have a coffee and a chat.
